Chiropractic for High Blood Pressure

A study performed at the University of Chicago hypertension center revealed that specific upper cervical adjustments, such as those performed at Lenhart Chiropractic Clinic, can significantly help patients with high blood pressure.  This plecebo controlled study found that patients who received upper cervical chiropractic care showed a significant reduction in both their systolic (upper number in a blood pressure count) and diastolic (lower number in a blood pressure count) blood pressures.

The studies leader, George Bakris, M.D., stated that the procedure seems to be adverse-event free.  We saw no side effects and no problems.  A follow-up study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, is currently examining a larger group of subjects to evaluate the long term effects of upper cervical chiropractic care on high blood pressure.
